Free 2005-2006 Homeschool Calendar with Enrollment

After you join Virtual Homeschool International, if you can spend your Homeschool dollars on high speed Internet and new-ish computer and printer. Far more than any other homeschool investment, this will be the most rewarding. Next, discretion... use your own. You are the expert on your own child. Your child may be at differing suggested grade levels for each or any number of subject areas, feel free to ignore suggestions and go with your intuition. Suit the curricula to your child, rather than worry about "doing homeschool the right way." Whenever possible, links to resources will be provided so that families will not need to invest in additional resources. Books and materials will have direct links from the Grade Table page. The fee for using the Virtual school is $15.00 per year for a family. While some linked sites have a pay subscription option, none of the subscription portions of these sites are necessary to the successful attainments of goals, and the subscription portions of linked sites are neither suggested nor supported by Virtual Homeschool International.

*** AOL users may need to use another browser such as Internet Explorer, NetScape, or Firefox to navigate passed the login and password protected portions of the school. AOL has instituted some features that cause diffiiculty for our login procedures. Unfortunately we can not correct this problem from our site. You can use different browsers with the AOL service and this does seem to correct the login problem. We recommend doing so if you are having problems with logins.

At the start of each school session open your browser to its full screen width. This will allow you to use all of the features on each page of the site. The "Weekly Schedule" feature on each Grade Table page will allow you to print a recommended or blank schedule for your child's grade level at the start of each week. This will allow you or your child to cross off work as it is completed. Date these pages and keep them as your homeschool record of Attendance and work covered. Each subject in each grade has a "Subject Goals" selection on the tool bar to give you the option of printing out the yearly goals and using the printout for your record of subject/items covered. Preschool through First grades have both written links the parent can use to meet specific goals, and pictorial quick links for each subject allowing the child to work on his or her own if the parent wishes. The Awesome Talkster and the Webster Talking browser with zoom feature for the sight impaired.are free downloadable programs that will allow books that are text to be read to your child. This program will also read web pages, and your child's Grade Table page. The Awsome Talkster does not work with Tours... We don't know why. These will have to be read by the educator or student. Alternative choices will be provided whenever possible.

Each Academic page on the vHomeschool web site has a look up feature. Double clicking on any word will pop up a definition of that word.

We recommend that you review Internet Safety Practices with your child before you use this, or any child site. Go over the Safe Surfing Checklist with your child.
